Little Girl Crying In The Rain

On Saturday we had a terrible sudden rain storm, with huge balls of hail falling from the sky. As we watched the rain pour down from our cozy living room a child passed in front of our house.

At a moment's notice I was prepared to spring into action and run outside and protect this little girl. But we quickly realized she only lived 2 doors down, so our help was useless really. She was a determined little thing, pushing her doll in it's stroller down the street as the hail balls pelted against her fragile flesh. You could see the tears streaming down her little face (she is around 4 years old). But you could see how strong she was, how angry she was at this stupid weather obviously destroying her fun time out with her doll. No amount of bad weather was going to stop her from getting home.

Our hearts went out to such a strong little girl and she has left us with images we will never, ever forget. It was saddness, anger, beauty and somehow strangely funny all at the same time. Bless you little girl, your strength will live with us forever.
